2008 Albums Top Ten

Well, it's almost 2009, so I'll start by posting what I thought are the best 10 albums this year.
Most of them are punk rock albums, maybe because it's my favourite genre or maybe punk rock really brought some good tunes.

Top Ten:
01. Useless ID - The Lost Broken Bones

For me, this album is everything I could ever wish for, catchy melody with some awesome lyrics, Useless ID is growing and fans should notice their change, cause it's a good one.

Best Songs: Blood Pressure, One Way Down, Shallow End.

02. Jet Lag Gemini - Fire The Cannons

What a happy album this is, from the beggining it's awesome, pop rock/pop punk as it should be, happy and catchy as hell. The awesomest (?) thing about this band are the solos, cause I'm not a big fan of solos on songs, but they make it sound great on their songs. Good work for this "new" band.
Best Songs: Bittersweet, Fit To Be Tied.

03. Lost In Line - Smiles That Scream

If you were looking desperately for a new and good punk rock band, this is it! Amazing! Were you looking for fast tunes, with great voices, well, now you found it. This guys sound really alike to NUFAN, but there's something about LIL that I like more, they're not that boring after hearing them a lot. Hope they keep goin' at the same pace.
Best Songs: Faces In The Dark, Smiles That Scream.

04. Pennywise - Reason To Believe

Ufff... I was stuck with this album for like a month... Non stop! Great lyrics from this one and most songs are just great! Nothing more to say about Pennywise, amazing band...
Best Songs: (Intro) As Long As We Can, One Reason, Brag, Exaggerate & Lie.

05. Rise Against - Appeal To Reason

Yeah, most of you guys will say "WTF? How can he have new Rise Against on the top ten?" But I really enjoy it, maybe it doesn't have the same essence as the previous records, but I find it pretty good as it is. Songs as Savior or Entertainment give me goosebumps everytime I hear them, you should really give them a second chance guys =/
Best Songs: Savior, Entertainment, Long Forgotten Sons.

06. My Awesome Compilation - Frontiers

A dark and sad album most of the times, but having great songs. Chris Driver has a very sad voice that gives you a sense of angst in every song, and that's what makes it so good, it's a different kinda album I would've liked, but I like it.
Best Songs: Ghosts On The Underground, Deal Me In.

07. H2O - Nothing To Prove

In 7th place, we've got Nothing To Prove, an album that, as it's name says, has nothing to prove. Most lyrics are about punk scene this times and how much it's changed, but with the same fastness and awesomeness that characterize them. I think the best about this are the short-length songs.

08. From Plan To Progress - Evolution In The Wrong Direction

Another great punk rock album. Catchy tunes with great voice. I can't ask for anything more.
Best Songs: A Look Over, Global Reaction, Immersed.

09. God Is An Astronaut - God Is An Astronaut

If you were looking for a good post-rock band, you have GIAA, but if you add the self-titled album, you will find yourself amazed by their songs. So calm, so pure, so good.
Best Songs: The whole album as one.

10. Mute - The Raven

Wow, what would you think? Another punk rock album! xD This album is great, fast, melodic and great. Mute's technique can compare to A Wilhelm Scream with a softer voice, which I prefer.
Best Songs: Apocalypse Soon, Lost And Found, Burning Wreck
